During the flight, Moira was doing... something - her hands were moving with supernatural speed, so fast that the human eye couldn't follow their movement, there was only some kind of metal clang, some kind of electric hum... until the girl stood triumphantly, with some strange device in her hands.
"Ta-da! This is going to help us!" she proclaimed. "Are we going inside the Rift?! I am... super excited! To boldly go where no man has gone... no, how should I put it... To boldly go beyond the realm of mortals and reason!" - Moira was really excited about her first mission, the opportunity to see what lies beyond the Rifts... she tried not to think that this is a dangerous mission, and she can die - or worse.
"It's cold out these!" Shesemet didn't share the enthusiasm of her Lotus - the "sphinx" fluffed her fur. "We're not even there, and I'm already freezing! We'd better hurry up and finish this stupid task quickly!"
"Oh, sorry!" Moira picked her companion up and tucked her under her winter coat. A contented purr came from under the clothes.
Finally, the tiltrotor landed, and Moira... just teleported out. And then instantly disappeared again and appeared next to Willfire, suddenly and tightly hugging the African girl.
"Holy Mother of mercy, I knew it's Siberia, but I didn't know it was going to be THAT bad! Can you do something about it, Willfire?" Like most Canadians, Denise used to live in the southernmost Canada and wasn't used to extreme cold... thankfully, when you have a lot of money, you can pay extra to but some winter clothes before the mission.
"So... this is a training mission, right?" she asked the Teacher. "We're expected to survive, and if something goes wrong, you will help us?" she accidentally showed her hidden nervousness. "O-K, my... I call it the Dimensional Distortion Detector - it is supposed to pinpoint the location of the Rift, making our job easier."
