// WORLDOld Version The Great Explosion was only a beginning. Before that nothing stopped humanity's progress for decades and they started to be more arrogant. When they found an Allergen, they tried to research it to put into the production because of its borderline magical capabilities. Nobody knows whether they found it or made it. Nobody knows what it actually is... The only truth known is that everybody is allergic to it. And then there was an explosion. The whole facility became a crater and Allergen was uncontainable. It spread on Earth like fire in the wooden house and everybody felt it. Itchy eyes, rainy noses. Then it became worse. Random powers started to appear. People panicked. Nobody likes it when you randomly sneeze with liquid nitrogen or combust after drinking coffee, especially if you the fall into an anaphylactic shock. Allergen started to change humanity and they ran. They created Pylons to protect themselves and then put them around chosen cities. Just locked themselves in the endless quarantines one-by-one, leaving billions to suffer the consequences of human hubris...
But even then the world outside the walls didn't fell. Animals often were subject to changes, but they rarely have strange to overcome the downsides of the Allergy. Plants didn't feel the change that much, steadily adopting to the changed ecosystems. Not all, though. The water was mostly fine, but the beaches became full of the whale and dolphin carcasses, even if they were quite resilient, it was hard on them. In the world outside the walls humans are not the self-proclaimed kings they once were. In the green wastelands Shockers are not that rare of a sight. They live with Allergen for so long, that they receive the strongest powers, which come at a great cost... Still symbiosis with that new live-changing substance was possible. Some even think of it as a God... Are they wrong though?

// POWERSOld Version Powers are a byproduct of an Allergy, caused by an Allergen. It is everywhere in the world outside the walls: in every breath, in every movement of the wind. When an empowered Allergic (called Shocker) contacts Allergen, he can alter it by letting it flow through his body. Untrained organism often fails during this process, causing anaphylactic shock and sometimes death. As such, the usage of powers is prohibited and borderline impossible in the civilized society of quarantined cities. The only way to use powers in a hypoallergic environment is by accessing your inner Allergen, that is constantly stored in lungs and blood during the exposure. But accessing the inner Allergen is even more dangerous them the outer, as such some cities produce Cartridges with the small doses of Allergen to be altered.
Powers allow users to create and control natural elements and substances: fire, electricity, light, trees, soundwaves — many things are possible with them. And the diversity between Shockers is huge, but sadly nobody was able to find a way to predict the powers one will get after exposure. Scientists mostly agree that it is coded in genes and the answer can be found someday, they just need to dig deeper. Shockers are not quite normal looking humans. They all have brightly colored eyes, resembling their power. The fiery orange eyes of pyromancers, the bright blue eyes of those, who create water and so on...
The powers usually allow personalization. They don't dictate how would you, for example, create water. So, different people can approach their craft differently. Some may train the raw power, while others master the precision. Still everything is limited by one factor. Energy. The typical energy conversion efficiency is around 20%, but some are able to increase it past 50% or even go beyond it, in case of the Apostles, who are probably the strongest shockers out there. As the average mass of the Allergen molecule is around 600 a.m.u. it allows for some maneuverability.

// LIFE IN THE CITIES Not many countries were able to use the Pylons to create save cities to live. The most cities are currently left in the territory of the ex-USA, where they spread throughout the whole continent. Sadly, mostly they were seriously cut down in size by the technical limitations, so many important industries became unavailable. That's when Couriers started to appear. They are specially designed private companies, specialized in delivering the goods between the cities. Food, medicine, weaponry even people — they deliver everything. As such they became a symbol of the possibility of uniting the world back. Biggest Courier companies are comparable to Apple, Google and Amazon of 2010s in their recognizability. The Big Six are the most elite Couriers out there. They deliver 99% of their orders and fight off any enemy on their way! But they are also incredibly expensive. - Scouts are the oldest organization. They were formed by former military men, who felt useless after the country collapsed. But they had tanks and skillful people, so it wasn't fare towards other Couriers in the first years...
- Evolution Express became the most expensive of the elites. But when they say deliver, they deliver, as there was never a time when they failed. Their Couriers are all very strong Shockers, who would be the most valuable assets in any smaller company.
- EGCC or Elisabeth Grant's Courier Company was formed by a widow of a billionaire. She dreamt of the better world and put all of the money into creating the best Courrier company possible. Sadly, after she passed away, the business side overtook the generous ideas...
- Hermes led by possibly the strongest Courier of them all. He has the most personal deliveries and the company bears his name. His followers are not so bad either, but every one of them acknowledges their leader's authority and can only dream of reaching the same heights.
- Western Dragon are an Atlantic-based company, that values the firepower a little bit too much. But it works in their favor. As their president says "Scorched Earth won't steal your delivery".
- Millenium are the weirdest of them all, as they value quantity over quality. They send up to hundreds of couriers on a single delivery to make up for the low level of skill of their recruits.
But outside of the elite, there are many places to take in this business. Small companies rise and fall in the never-ending competition. But the demand is high and many young people dream of escaping the enclosed reality of cities and exploring that wide world out there... Which often leads to their deaths in the fields. The world may be beautiful but is still very-very cruel...

// LIFE IN THE WILDSOld Version It's hard to survive outside of the cities. And it's not because of the people or fauna, the reason is the air itself. As such only those with high enough resilience can overcome all struggles and try to live there. Wild Shockers are tough and their traditions are even tougher. To survive in the never ending battle against an infinite invisible power, they have to sacrifice a lot. They go through Cleansing every week, that's the process of removing all the extra Allergen from the blood to decrease its level. It's very painful, as the blood basically boils in the process and some of the Shockers die during it.
Despite constantly cleansing bodies from the Allergen, they have no strong feelings against it. Some even see Allergen in a religious perspective. They often deem the Cleansed Allergen to be the pure form of it and try to make more, pushing themselves to the edge. Those Leukos are the most dangerous creatures. It's hard to call the humans, as their bodies are pushed beyond limits and often become malformed amalgamations. On top of it their skin goes white from constant blood operations, hence the name. But even then they'll do everything to get more of that Purity... even if it means demolishing hundreds of citizens...
Those Raids are thought of as a natural disaster, as sometimes a bunch of Leukos can just stumble upon the city. They do that to let the Purity flow in the world. But the citizens are not usually affected by the Allergen, so those who survived initially are tortured. They either go anaphylactic or slowly put through Allergen injections. Sometimes they survive through that, if the Apostles deem them worthy. They are the only ones who Leukos listen to, as they have proven to be the strongest. Apostles are the top of the outer hierarchy. They are the law. Every Apostle has their own Cell, a place they can call home. Despite everything, they actyally follow the code, even if it benefits the strongest. For example, for the first year an Apostle is untouchable by others, it's called an Adaptation. They are given twelve months to create something and to prove that they are worthy. In that time period no other Apostle can intervene, but after that... The newbie should just hope that he didn't waste that year.
And at the bottom the wilds are not even the weak. There is one type of people they hate more. Those are Traitors, Apostles who get the citizenship and betray the ideals of the Outside. There is a reason why this is rare, as the angered community will hunt them down vigorously and then make their live a living hell, so much as they wish they were dead.
