This is Emerald, the third planet in the Nova-VII system. One day it was a green paradise, marked for colonization by humanity in the end of the third millennia. When the first humans finally stepped on its ground they found an incredibly rich world full of life, which really was going to live up to its potential. But only then they found out about something very small but very important, as colonists one by one fell ill with allergic symptoms. Many died, until the problem was established. This whole world was covered with microscopic organisms, who formed symbiosis with everything living. But when it tried to contact humans, two things were caused: an allergic reaction, which gave this creature a name Allergen, and spontaneous hypernatural abilities...
Initially weak, those powers slowly started to grow with increased exposure. Even so, not everybody was on board with this sudden power up, as it more often than not caused death or at least anaphylactic shock. As such, the first cities were voted to be built outside of the influence of the ever-present Allergen. With time, people adapted, but the fear remained. Those who were exposed to Allergen and awoke their powers were called Shockers. Their sole existence caused the divide in the society...
